Crop Characteristics, Inc., founded in 1989, is committed to insect rearing & egg production and contract research testing for the seed & crop industry.

Offices, laboratories, and environmentally-controlled growth and rearing chambers are housed in a modern 7,000 square foot headquarters building in Farmington, Minnesota.

Owner and Entomologist Scott Sargent directs the insect rearing and testing. Previously, he worked as a researcher for a major seed company, conducting insect research projects on alfalfa, corn, & other crops, and rearing European corn borer & corn rootworms for plant breeders.
